My best friend Kassidy was recently visiting Banff for the weekend, so I had to take her to my favourite breakfast spot, Tooloulous.
Delectable Breakfast at Tooloulous
In my books, girls weekends mean three things: lots of shopping, lots of giggles, and of course – lots of brunch.
Tooloulous is that perfect kind of cozy, with red check tablecloths and coffee that doesn’t run dry.
I of course knew what I was having – the same as always. The fresh fruit infusion has never let me down: how could you go wrong with rich, fluffy French toast piled with fresh berries, bananas and smothered in whipped cream? (Not to leave out the sweet powdered sugar dusting).
I let Kassidy peruse the menu, as thoughts of French toast riding a maple syrup river danced in my head.
“Too many options!” she exclaimed, finally selecting the Western omelette, served with hashbrowns and toast.
Our food arrived promptly, and we dug in. Knowing I was writing a blog, Kassidy pushed me to try her omelette. I have to admit, even as someone who is generally not a fan of egg dishes, the flavourful omelette was loaded with ham, tomatoes, green onions and cheddar jack cheeses. I couldn’t deny it tasted delicious.
We enjoyed our meals and each other’s company, and before long our friendly server left us with our bills and a final top up of coffee.
At least with a Banff classic like Tooloulous, it’s never a goodbye, but a see you later.
