With long, hot days and plenty of sunshine to go around, it’s time to sit on a patio, enjoy a bevvie and some great food, and connect with the people and places around us. There’s no better place to sit on a patio than in the Canadian Rockies, and in the tourist town of Canmore, there are plenty of options! Here are some of our favourite patios in Canmore.
Canmore’s Patios
It’s summertime!
Stoney’s
This patio sits above it all at Silvertip Resort. Check out the breathtaking scenery with unobstructed views of the Three Sisters and the picturesque golf course. Watch golfers come down the 18th hole while looking at the stunning mountains and enjoying casual dining with excellent beer, wine, and cocktails. It’s perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or an afternoon drink with friends. Because you’re above the town, you’re completely surrounded by nature. It’s the perfect place to sit back, relax, and find your connection.
Creekside Patio at The Malcolm
Fine dining meets even finer views at The Malcolm, home of The Stirling and Creekside Patio. Set against the creek and stunning mountains, this patio transports you to a mountain oasis in the middle of Spring Creek, in the heart of downtown Canmore. Listen to the gentle bubbling water, look up at the iconic Three Sisters and enjoy everything that this mountain oasis has to offer. This patio is pet friendly, so even your four-legged family members can enjoy the fresh air. Check out the daily happy hour for 25% off the entire drink menu, from 2 – 5 pm.
Iron Goat
Gather ‘round for great times on this great patio that’s above the hustle and bustle of downtown, but close enough to be easily accessible. The patio at the Iron Goat is where locals and visitors alike gather to enjoy summertime. The casual atmosphere, great food and drinks, and friendly service make this the perfect spot for your next hang-out with friends or dinner with visiting family members.
Grizzly Paw
It’s a Canmore institution. This brewery has fantastic, local brews, local pop, great food, and a casual, friendly atmosphere. Some of their brews even support local charities! Their downtown patio on Main Street has all the excitement you want with stellar views and it’s within walking distance to everything. At their brewery, Tank 310 also has great views on a huge patio for a slightly different experience. Either way, you’ll be delighted with great food, friendly service, and a true taste of Canmore culture.
SandTraps
This sneaky patio is off the beaten path at the Canmore Golf and Curling Club, but it’s a huge patio with fantastic views and it’s open to the public. Tucked away from the busy streets yet still close to downtown, this restaurant has great food, great views, and a huge patio. It’s a bit of a local’s secret, and it’s a fantastic place to get away from it all and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
